DARN was cofounded by Denice Bain and Mary Priddy in 2019.

Mary and Denice have both loved animals for as long as they can remember. They got their first experience with animal rescue groups during the Bastrop fires of 2011. While helping with the fires, they  experienced the stress of emergency evacuation firsthand and assisted others with rescuing farm animals in harms way. The experience made them fall in love with the organizations that assisted and facilitated response efforts thru social media. They have been dedicated to supporting animal advocacy organizations and emergency response ever since.
